School of Analytical Journalism

The School of Analytical Journalism is an educational initiative aimed at training a new generation of media professionals in Kazakhstan. The program is designed for senior university students and early-career professionals seeking to work in line with international standards of journalism, public information, and civic education.

SANA Holding acted not only as the organizer of the School, but also as its intellectual partner, ensuring the full integration of in-house expertise into the educational process:

• Proprietary training program
  Experts from the holding developed a multidisciplinary intensive course covering fact-checking, countering disinformation, media analysis, and the use of artificial intelligence tools in journalistic and creative work.
• Hands-on mentorship
  Lectures and masterclasses were delivered by holding experts and invited professionals, enabling participants to work with real-world cases and develop collaborative analytical projects.
• Research-driven approach
  The School’s central theme - “Kazakhstan at a Turning Point: What’s Next?” - focused on issues of public governance and public sociology, as well as the analysis and deconstruction of media myths.

The School of Analytical Journalism laid the foundation for the development of a professional internship and training system within SANA Holding, creating an effective mechanism for identifying, developing, and preparing young talent for the company’s media assets.
